IFHE-US Development Fund

The IFHE-US Development Fund provides a means by which you can contribute to help fellow Home Economist/Family Consumer Scientist in developing countries to strengthen programs for families and communities. Started in 1997, The IFHE-US Fund has collected over $77,000 dollars. All of these monies are considered “principle” and only the interest earned can be used for programming. All administrative costs associated with fund development have been born by individual volunteers, so that all of your money is working for families!

Five countries have similar funds—Canada, Great Britain, Japan, Norway and the United States. For the first time, during the Kyoto International Congress in 2004 this group of funds distributed the first grant. The recipient was St. Lucia Home Economics Association to support primary school leavers develop income generating skills.  Hopefully similar grants will be distributed at future Congresses.

Your money can make a difference!  Send checks made out to “IFHE-US Development Fund” and address them to:
