NETWORKING HALF A WORLD AWAY

Networking among IFHE members is not limited to Council and Congress. Miller and Gibbs, recently on holiday in Australia, had the opportunity of visiting with Clarkson and Cooney in Sydney.
Clarkson is the Head Teacher of Tourism and Hospitality at Hunter Institute at the Wyong Campus in New South Wales, Australia. She is also a member of the International Development Fund, joining that committee at the IFHE Congress in Thailand.
Cooney is the Conference Convener of the 2007 National Home Economics Institute of Australia. Both were in Sydney at a planning meeting for Australia's 2007 National meeting.
Miller, is one of the NGO representatives for IFHE at the United Nations in New York. She was co-chair of the NGO Committee on the Family/NY for four years. Her new position on this committee is treasurer. She retired from the New York City School System where she taught home and career skills on the intermediate school level. She also was responsible for teacher training for the district in this subject area.
Gibbs, retired Family Resource Management Specialist, Cooperative Extension Service, University of Georgia is currently serving as co-chairman of the GRENADA RELIEF PROJECT and is director of PROJECT IDENTIFY AND RECOGNIZE. Since 1984 she has hosted tours to IFHE Congresses and Councils.
During their time together they were able to share not only work and personal activities but projects, activities and future plans for IFHE in both Countries.
